My work with people is trauma-informed and grounded in openness, safety, trust, and authenticity. I use an eclectic therapy approach, drawing on multiple theoretical orientations and techniques. It is a flexible and multifaceted approach to therapy that allows me to use the most effective methods available to address each individual client’s needs. I am trained in Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment (ACT), and Somatic Therapy approach. Currently, I am getting trained in Schema Therapy and Internal Family Systems.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Groningen and my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Every year, I participate in several professional development activities to keep my training and clinical knowledge up to date. I also seek regular clinical consultations with experienced psychotherapists to discuss diverse client problems to broaden my expertise and ensure that I deliver the most ethical treatment to my clients.

I am glad that you asked that. The most important factor in determining the outcomes of psychotherapy is the relationship between the client and therapist. A good therapeutic relationship consists of an emotional bond of trust, caring, and respect. Another important aspect of a good relationship is the agreement on therapy goals and collaboration on the treatment tasks. In other words, I will support you in formulating your therapy goals, but it will always be YOUR goals and what YOU find important. For this reason, I offer a 20 min free of charge session to get to know each other and see if we are the right fit.
